Screen door repair cost
A door panel rescreen with a new kickplate runs roughly $90–$180. A full door rebuild — frame, corner keys and hardware — runs $250–$650. Published Florida market ranges, not this operator’s prices, and the door is the one panel on a cage that genuinely does wear on a different schedule than the rest of the enclosure.

These are researched market estimates - ranges published in 2026 by other Florida screen contractors and cost-guide sites, statewide or Orlando-metro rather than Winter Springs-specific. Winter Springs Rescreening’s own rate starts at $1.76 per square foot, installed — the real floor against the ranges shown.
Why the door fails first
Every other panel on a Winter Springs cage sits still. The door opens and closes hundreds of times a year, so its rollers, hinges, closer and latch wear out on a cycle-count basis rather than a UV-exposure basis — the same reason it is worth checking the door separately from the rest of the mesh when a cage is otherwise sound.
Door repair cost questions
Is a door rebuild the same job as a door rescreen?
No. A rescreen replaces the mesh and spline on the door panel itself — the more common and cheaper job. A rebuild replaces the door frame, corner keys and hardware, which is needed when the frame has racked out of square rather than just losing its mesh.
What usually causes a door to need a full rebuild instead of a repair?
Corroded fasteners at the hinge jamb on an older cage, or repeated impact over years of use, both of which rack the frame out of true. See pool screen door won’t close for how to tell which one you are looking at.

Dragging, sagging, or racked out of square — that alone usually sorts a rescreen from a rebuild.
